2 Stars Dainty Plastic Filter
This pump only worked once. On my second trip the intake connection had broke off. The filter was packed well with no heavy objects around it, but broke anyway. Save your money on this one. Spend the extra cash on something more durable.

Spent 12 days at Philmont and used the Vario several times. It was quick and didn’t clog. We had 2 other filters that did not work as well/quickly. The Vario is bullkier than others but it works.

Went camping with 4 friends and only 2 of us used this to drink water from the relatively clean river that we were canoeing on and guess who got sick? Don’t waste your money! Bring your own bottled water that you know to be good.

5 Stars quick replacement
I ordered the water filter and much to my dismay the little tip that holds the tygon tube was broken. So I tried to get the part from the filer company but they did not have it as its from Switzerland. So I completed the online return and replace form with Amazon and they emailed the link to find the docs to print out and include in return box and I ordered a replacement, no charge, unless I dont return the original within 30 days, which I have since sent. GREAT. The water filter was sent to Malawi, where it is truly needed and reportedly works great. The replacement came VERY quickly, in time to catch its flight with a friend. So thanks the return system works very well.

4 Stars Better Than Tap Water
We had quite a “fancy” water purifier for many years and since we couldn’t decide what to purchase to replace it, we ordered a Brita for the transition. It’s been a good purchase since it makes the water taste good, but it seems the filter goes out way before the two month suggested change. It begins to taste “off” after about 5-6 weeks. There’s two of us using it, me and my husband, and we do like to drink water … but I would think it should last longer.

It’s easy to clean and easy to fill. Nice design for its purpose.

I am new to filtered water, we’ve been buying bottled for years. What bothers me about this Brita pitcher is that the filter doesn’t “lock” in place and I can see a gap at the top between the filter and the sides of the filter chamber. I’m sure unfiltered water just goes through there to the pitcher without going through the charcoal. I’m thinking of returning it.

This Brita Pitcher works just as my old one did, however it is much bigger which, for me, is great. Because of its size it might be a bit heavy for some to handle. I like the fact it is bigger because I use a lot of filtered water and I don’t have to keep filling it as often as I did the smaller one.

4 Stars Top Brita Pitcher but also Consider the Brita 35530 Ultramax Dispenser
Overall this is one of the best pitchers Brita offers. Its defining characteristic is its extra large capacity (reducing the number of times you have to refill it)

PROS:

It is Brita’s largest pitcher (with a 10 cup capacity)

It is very quick and easy to refill (you don’t have to remove the entire lid like on the older models)

CONS:

The pitcher can get VERY HEAVY when full because water is heavy (this might be a problem for children, elderly, etc.)

The reviews are true (you have to wait for water to sink to bottom before you use it or else the lid falls out and you get water all over the kitchen counter)

BOTTOM LINE: It is my favorite Brita pitcher because of its extra large capacity, but I would consider Brita 35530 Ultramax Dispenser in conjunction with this or as an alternative since 10 cups of water can get heavy and Brita 35530 Ultramax Dispenser is easier to use.

5 Stars great water, no problems
We got this pitcher to replace an old, old one we’d be using for years (one of the square footprint ones).

While the old one had numerous minor problems, this one is great. The only remotely frustrating thing is that, sometimes while pouring, my thumb’ll rest on the tab to open the hatch on the top, popping it open. That’s the extent of the trouble. It doesn’t cause any more severe problem, like dumping water everywhere, and the whole lid doesn’t fall off the way it does on some other filtration pitchers (brita or otherwise).

1 Star Like frustration?
What good is it when it falls apart every third time you use it????? Horribly designed. Ultimately threw it out. Will not buy another from this company. They evidently didn’t test it or if they did, didn’t care that it was highly prone to simply falling apart in front of your very eyes without any urging whatsoever. Like getting slapped in the face.

If you want frustration, I urge you to buy it and see what happens.

I love my Brita. You get fresh bottled water taste without the waste of plastic bottles. I like that this model has the meter on top to let you know when it is time to change the filter. I use it every day to fill my reusable water bottle and I have saved a ton of money not buying cases of water. I feel I am helping the environment by not using plastic bottles.

I have had a lot of visitors and everyone wants to know why our water taste so good. These filters make bottle water a thing of the past.

1 Star Dissapointed with Delivery
I had ordered this item on 9/21 and it was delivered 10/10. This is the first time I’ve ever faced this issue – I have been a loyal Amazon customer for years. Delivery lead time was very dissapointing especially since it was shipped out on 9/24. Not sure why it took so long.

When the product arrived, the filter box was open and there wasn’t any documentation in there – the box said refer instructions in the instruction booklet inside and there wasn’t one. the filters also did not seem new – i am not sure if these come wrapped individually.

Other than that, I just installed this filter and the water flow is not continuous, I am hoping that with increased usage, the flow will become better. if not, i am returning these filters.

4 Stars Water filter OK, installation instructions rubbish.
The water filter has been in my sink for about one month. It functions perfectly, but friends have suggested the lever on the faucet requires too much strength for easy operation. The main fault I found with this product is the installation instructions. They show a newer faucet than was included with the installation kit. The method of installing the different types of faucets is completely different. I could not find installation instructions for the faucet included with my unit anywhere on the Watts website.

4 Stars Water tastes much better
This water filter has greatly improved the taste of our water. It did have a low flow rate with an inlet pressure of 55 PSI so I ended up ordering a Watts Premier 3 gal. storage tank to use in between the filter and the dispenser.

5 Stars Pleased in Tucson
Product works great, only had install a week ago but will keep you posted. Make sure to run the water through system for awhile. Seemed to have a gray tint to water. After that its great. I live in Tucson and the water is awful here. I don’t use this system for drinking (I use bottle water) but I use this water for ice, cooking, etc. and it taste great. I would recommend.

4 Stars Great unit
This is a sturdy unit, and the faucet is very nice, as pictured in item description, although not the same as the one in the manual – you can see the installation instructions at Watts’ website. Only needed a small wrench to remove the cold water line from the supply pipe and replace it with the kit’s valve. I’d recommend a basin wrench if the top of your sink (where the faucet goes) is hard to reach from below. Follow the directions to run at least 7 gallons of water through before first use. Pressure is low until you get close to 7 gallons and the filters are saturated and the bubbles are gone. After that primary “rinse” the water flows slightly faster than one ounce per second on my well/pump supply which has another sediment filter upstream – municipal pressure would likely be stronger. I mounted the unit on the screws provided, but did not snug them down to the wall, so I can easily lift the unit out for filter change or inspection. There is ample tubing for any sort of mounting and removal from under sink.

3 Stars Not quite an easy install
The Watts WP2BVC Filter I purchased is to eliminate the need for bottled water. I have read reports on various filter systems and the Watts rates high. I have city water with a chlorine smell and taste.

When getting ready to install make sure you have access to the plumbing lines. The so-called Adapt-A-Valve did not fit my existing water line at the supply shut-off. I had to go to my home improvement store with the valve and try to find parts to make it work. With another adapter and a new faucet supply line in hand I was able to complete the installation.

The water faucet that comes in the kit is what is pictured, but the instructions that come with the faucet are not for that model. The installation is completely different. If you don’t have clue about basic plumbing, I would get a pro to install it. Other wise you may be in for some leakage.

The water inlet and outlet lines are plastic, not really a long lasting material. I may change them over to copper to prevent any problem of leaking or breakage.

After flushing the filters for at least 7 gallons, the water is clean and no taste of chlorine. The cartridges are supposed to last for 500 gallons or 6 months and you can get a reminder from Watts web site.

If it weren’t for the fact that you have to purchase additional fittings to make this work and the faucet instructions did not apply, I would have given 5 stars.
